Great Functional and Fun Furniture – Corner desks with shelves

There are many types of desks available for the people in the market like standing desks, corner desk and executive desks and you can choose anyone to use them at work. I know the importance of good desk as home office worker but it chagrin for me as I am still working on my old table. It was a dining table which was built many years back and is in my use since been retired. It is good but still I wanted to have corner desk which has required look and dimensions. I feel that I can build a corner desk being an amateur woodworker and it was very simple.

I made decision about a desk which could be attached to the wall and I liked the corner desks very much rather I was much impressed with corner desks which have built in shelving. So I decided to build the same corner desk with shelving for my needs. I assembled all required tools and materials and started my work. Here is the general picture what I did.

First of all I made measurement of corner and find the length of shelving. Then this shelving was cut to place the wood carefully from table saw for smooth cut. It can be good to cut anything on the table saw slowly and steady. I set the shelving to the side after cutting them and then I moved to desk and supports. The location on each shelf is marked with upright supports two for each one. Then I used stud finder to mark the walls. There are free standing or attached corner computer desks. I selected to attach to uprights which also provided support to shelves. You can have much sturdier desk by taking care to attach uprights to studs in walls.

I finished off the edges by using wood trim because I used MDF for desk. It looked very nice. I thought that this furniture piece will work nicely until build nice stand alone piece of furniture. I would certainly like to make nice oak desk on someday with all whistles and bells, drawers, shelves and pullout surfaces. It would be good for me to win lottery but this setup is good for now. You can save plenty of space with corner desks and you can also have great storage with its shelving. You can also move these desks very easily by just disassembling few pieces of desks and it is ready to move.

The corner desks can be simple and functional and they can serve their purpose. I can easily put my computer, printer, speakers, keyboard and many other things on the desk. These desks don’t take too much floor space and I like its look.
